Prizes for the Oly Awards
There are only a few days left to submit your photos into our Olympic Ad Awards contest, The Olys. We would like to now introduce the fabulous prizes!
We wanted to come up with a great prize to give to the winners of our Vancouver 2010 Olympic Ad contest, and we wanted it to be something truly Vancouver. We found our solution.
Local Vancouver artist and photographer, Rachael Ashe, alters books, and turns them into stunning pieces of art. So without further ado, here are the very unique prizes we have chosen for the Best Photo and the Best Brand. We think they’re pretty awesome. We hope you do, too.
Oly Award for Best Ad Photographer: “The Butterfly Effect”
For more detailed photos of this piece, and to see how it was made, view it here.
Oly Award for Best Brand at the Olympics: “Swimming in a Sea of Words”
This seemed fitting to give to the winner of the Best Brand, because it has a real West Coast flavour to it. View detailed photos of this piece and find out how it was made here.
For more information on the artist and these altered books, check out Rachael Ashe’s website and flickr stream.
But wait! Don’t forget to submit your photos and vote for the best ads and photos in the Olys!
The rules are simple:
- Enter a photo of an advertisement associated with the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
- Check out the Entries and rate your favorite photos and brands.
At the end of this week, we’ll create a shortlist of finalists.
At the end of the Games we’ll collect the entries and ratings. We’ll award the 2 prizes of original artwork to the winners!
