How To: Critical Thinking

I found this video from Joe Szabo and liked it right away.

Taken in the context of advertising, it provides outstanding guidance on how to think about great creative work.

Question everything. Accepted no received wisdom. Gather information. Analyze and reorganize and review and question again. Then try. Test. Experiment and learn and experiment again.

Discover the great germs of creative work by rigourous inquiry. Learn to do by doing. Use evidence to drive the next lesson.

The only parts my skeptical mind wants to add are that we should never underestimate the value and influence of the reptile brain.

We are animals after all.
