Entitled In Search of Earth’s Core this carved apple is a wonderful piece of imaginative work by visual artist Kevin Van Aelst.

I love the way his work takes daily objects and scenes and transforms them into opportunities for meaning to suggest itself.

Some of the meaning is overt, like Common Clouds where the clouds of our sky appear in the milky swirls of a cup of coffee.

Some of the meaning is more open to interpretation. Like this apple.
