Toyota Wants Your Ad Ideas

Have a great idea for a 30-second TV ad for Toyota? They’re ready for it.
Head over to the HEYA, the Toyota social network and pitch your idea. I know, it was news to me too.
And I’d love to tell you what the experience was like. But I didn’t go for it. The sign up form sucked the life out of me. And I live outside the USA where the Internet still works. And I saw that the winners each get a Flickr Pro account (echo). Runners-up win an iPod Shuffle (cough). And that just felt depressing.
C’mon. Toyota. You’re going to take people’s ideas and give them a chance to win a $30 prize? Does that roughly show how much you value the process? Is the word ‘chintzy’ inappropriate here?
These tchochtkes feel like the digital equivalent of carny prizes.
Thanks to AdRants for the story.
