Demitri Martin drawings, flip charts, art

A friend sent me this excellent video of Demitri Martin doing his standup routine. I recommend you spend 9 minutes of your day including some happy.

I also thought the video contained a great lesson: art, drawings and communication can be outstanding no matter how ‘good’ their quality. Demetri’s drawing will never be mounted in a museum. His flip charts won’t be included in the next book of Presentation Zen.

But, no matter. No one really notices. Demetri’s drawings fit his style and message.

When you’re trying to create something — make a video, write a script, record a ringtone — don’t be afraid to just do what you feel is right. Make something, then revise it. Get feedback. Work on something tangible.

Even if it’s not exactly what you imagined when you set out or what everyone else is doing. Do your own thing. Do it with passion and work hard. Rewards will come to you.
