AdHack buzz from BarCamp Vancouver

Here’s a quick roundup of the online echoes from the Introducing AdHack, a do-it-yourself advertising community session I gave at BarCamp Vancouver.
- John Bollwitt says ‘AdHack is a brilliant idea, and I’m excited to see it launch. Today was kinda the unveiling of the venture. It’s a worthwhile way to truly reconsider how advertising works.’ John also took the photo above.
- Peter Van Garderen thinks that the photo above of ‘James Sherrett giving a presentation about AdHack, a recently launched do-it-yourself advertising community, while behind him Sarah Pullman is leading a Yoga for Geeks session,’ sums up the Vancouver tech / geek experience. And I’d say he’s pretty close to right.
- Brian Zug did a great duty for everyone by video taping many sessions. I was lucky enough to have him tape Introducing AdHack, a do-it-yourself advertising community (.MOV file, requires Quicktime, 8 MB) though regretably the first 2/3 of the session were lost due to power challenges.
- Shannon Emmerson says, ‘check out James Sherrett’s site for AdHack, a very cool-sounding venture targeted at crowd-sourcing advertising: letting the viewers make — and get rewarded for making — the ads.’
- Roland Tanglao says, ‘AdHack looks cool (user generated positive and negative ads that are also rated by the community!).’
- Check out photos on Flickr tagged with AdHack and tagged with BarCamp Vancouver to see a collective slideshow of the madness.
Did I miss anything? I’m sure I have. Please let me know. Update: Aaron Pettigrew has a great contribution to the conversation with his take on AdHack from BarCamp Vancouver. So good I commented on his commentary.
